NSW South East Forests

Client

NSW Forestry Corpotation

NSWFC approached Creative Lines following the 2019/20 bushfires to assist with assessing, planning and reinstating several key visitor locations across south-eastern NSW.

This engagement began with ecological monitoring and reporting of flora and fauna sightings, emerging species identification, harvesting of dense seedling regrowth and nursery care for replanting in sparse areas as developed tubestock. Ecological restoration of several picnic areas, campgrounds and key visitor locations.

Using GIS systems, our crews identified, mapped and monitored several endangered species of flora as they revived from the bushfires.

As work continued, our crews reinstated the walking trails and their features, the campground, the picnic area, and land management infrastructure.

As consultants to FCNSW, Creative Lines provided design guidance based on user psychologies and interaction habits, flora and fauna behaviours and greater ecological tendencies.

Overall, our teams reopened 11 picnic, rest areas and campgrounds, including Newtons Crossing, Imlay Creek, Scrubby Creek, Nethecote Falls, Bermagui Rest Area, Bodalla Rest Area, Yadboro Camp Ground, Lowden Park Camp Ground, Pilot Hill, Sugar Pines and Paddys River Dam.

Following the reopening of NSW Forests to the public in 2021/22, and with COVID in full swing. Our team was further engaged to monitor public use and maintain the grounds and facilities of 9 picnic and camping areas across the southeast region.

This phase required daily reporting of both work and public activity, and strict hygiene protocols throughout the process. Full reporting was delivered through a shared project management platform, and monthly data capture was presented in formal document presentations.

Works continued until early 2024 after the final COVID restrictions were lifted.
